The Concept Behind Hydeout: The Prelude

In lieu of live performances, the last two years has seen the rise of the virtual festival. Leading entertainment brands are hosting their own digital events, livestream platforms like Twitch are booming and even gaming giants like Fortnite are jumping on the bandwagon.

Hydeout: The Prelude aims to take the concept further, creating an immersive digital entertainment platform featuring on-demand exclusive performances, with opportunities to interact via online games, chat rooms and customizable avatars. Fans can watch the world’s leading acts share exclusive interviews and perform from a series of stunning locations around the world, including multiple mind-blowing virtual settings.

Hydeout: The Prelude is wired to connect like-minded people across the globe and bring our favourite music and artists a step closer with one of a kind music presentations and artist stories. It is a place where everyone is welcome, free to interact and celebrate; having an unbounded freedom to experience a first of its kind entertainment platform

Incorporating an assortment of genres, Hydeout’s artists offer something to suit every taste, from the industry’s most sought-after DJs to chart-topping pop sensations. If you’re still on the fence about whether or not to take the plunge and enter the world of Hydeout, here’s a brief glimpse into the lineup, with 5 of our favourite performances on the platform so far.

Our Top 5 Sets on Hydeout: The Prelude

1. Charli XCX

Grammy-nominated British artist Charli XCX rose into the spotlight almost a decade ago, when she collaborated with Icona Pop to release the 2012 summer anthem I Love It. Over the course of her career she has gained a reputation as one of pop music’s most influential acts, and earlier this year announced that she’s working on her fifth studio album.

2. Martin Garrix

Stmpd Records founder and former champion of DJ Mag’s Top 100, Martin Garrix is one of the biggest acts to feature on Hydeout: The Prelude’s roster. Garrix is a name that needs no introductions, having gained fame that stretches far beyond the EDM community and headlining countless festivals around the world. At just 25 years old, the Dutch DJ even starred in dance music documentary What We Started, alongside British house and techno royalty Carl Cox.

3. Alison Wonderland

Aussie artist Alison Wonderland is another worth paying attention to on Hydeout: The Prelude. The bass enthusiast previously made news when she was crowned DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s Highest Climber, jumping 52 places in one year to No. 44.

4. Tinashe

Describing her music as “rhythmic pop”, Tinashe is gearing up to release her fifth studio album this year, less than two years after her sensational album Songs For You. The American artist riled up fans in May by posting a teaser to social media, with the cryptic caption “333” leaving many guessing about what’s in store.

5. Sam Feldt

Joining the likes of fellow Dutchman Martin Garrix, Sam Feldt has a string of hits under his belt and is a must-see for fans of deep house. In 2020, Feldt released the first track Hold Me Close on his own record label, Heartfeldt Records, and also established his climate change-focused charity: Heartfeldt Foundation.
