Celebrate Marquee Singapore’s First Birthday at This Virtual Dance Party

Singapore’s biggest club to host one of Asia’s largest free virtual parties

The lockdown might have brought nightlife to a standstill globally, but one thing it’s not getting in the way of is Marquee Singapore’s first anniversary celebration.

To commemorate a year since opening, Singapore’s biggest nightclub is throwing a free virtual party with performances by three of dance music’s top billing headliners, namely Steve Aoki, Nicky Romero and Andrew Rayel.

The anniversary party, held this Friday (May 22), will be the first major event that the club has held since it closed doors to the public on March 13 after following advice from the Singapore government. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, venues were previously informed that they should cancel or postpone any events with 250 attendees or more.

In keeping with social distancing guidelines, the three artists will play back to back from their own homes or studios as fans watch online via streaming platforms Zoom and Twitch. Taking place at 9PM (UTC+ 8), Friday’s event will be the first in a series of virtual parties scattered throughout May and June, with future shows set to include Blasterjaxx, Dash Berlin, Dannic, MarLo and Paul Van Dyk.

Singapore’s Biggest Nightclub

For those unfamiliar with Marquee Singapore, the extravagant club is part of a larger chain owned by restaurant and nightlife company Tao Group Hospitality. With clubs in New York, Las Vegas and Sydney, Marquee’s reputation is one of glamour and decadence. The Singapore venue offers an experience like no other— stretching out across three floors, the club features 70-feet high ceilings, 8K resolution screens, and even a Ferris wheel complete with photo booths in each pod.

"We knew when we entered Singapore that we were going into a sophisticated nightlife and dining scene, and our product would have to be adjusted and adapted accordingly. It was a lot of leg work and a great partnership with Marina Bay Sands that led us to create something so unique and special," said Tao Group Hospitality co-founder Noah Tepperberg. "We are so grateful to everyone who has made our first year so memorable and we can’t wait to welcome our guests back when we re-open."
