Jai Thep is a Chiang Mai-based celebration of music and art. The festival is often compared to Glastonbury and it’s easy to see why— the bohemian vibe attracts an eclectic crowd made up of locals and travellers alike.
Over the course of three days, if you roam the fields at Jai Thep you’ll find all manners of activities to entertain yourself with. Participate in workshops and yoga classes, join the artists live-painting on site or head over to the Home stage, where comedians and guest speakers await.
Considering Jai Thep brings together such a diverse mix of people, the lineup needs to reflect everyone’s tastes. Across the four different stages, live bands cover everything from rock, indie and folk to punk, rap and funk, whilst a slew of DJs take care of the underground music, including techno, house, drum and bass, psytrance and so on.
Now in its 5th year running, this free-spirited, family friendly party is one of Northern Thailand’s best. From the art installations scattered across the fields to the cultural performances, workshops and music, Jai Thep has something for everyone.
