Bar Mood Taipei
Bar Mood sits right in the heart of Taipei’s bustling East District, on Dunhua South Road. Outside, the street is packed with countless bars, restaurants and tea shops, but it’s the sleek marble entrance to Bar Mood that stands out. Founded by Nick Wu in 2017, this meticulously designed bar & bistro combines comfort with cocktails and is separated into two rooms— each with its own distinct ambiance. A chic, marble-furnished standing area greets you upon entry, ideal for casual meetups with friends and easier to secure a table during peak hours. Further inside is the intimate, inviting lounge, where you can sink back into plush sofas as a skilled team of bartenders whip up your drink of choice.
If you’re looking to branch out from your go-to order, there’s no better place. The beautifully illustrated menu is so extensive that you can expect to ask the server to ‘give you another minute’ three times over before you settle on a decision. It’s teeming with innovative drinks, showcasing local and sometimes bizarre ingredients— ever tried fried shallot rum or butter fat-washed gin?— not to mention the range of mouth-watering food on offer. It’s no wonder they currently hold the title of 13th Best Bar in Asia.
Tip: Before choosing a date to go, make sure you check their social media first as Bar Mood often invites the world’s finest mixologists to come along and work a guest shift.
