DJ Mag Announces Top 100 Clubs in the World 2020, Green Valley Takes Top Spot Again

Amidst all the chaos currently going on, DJ Mag have just released their annual Top 100 Clubs in the world list via a live countdown. Despite venues across the globe closing their doors to the public for the time being, the magazine decided to go ahead and publish the list after a period of careful consideration. In doing so, DJ Mag are trying to gather online support for the clubs we love, at the time they need it most.

"Due to the global disruption caused by the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, nightclubs and live music venues worldwide are being closed. Many are under threat of not reopening at all. Therefore, we believe now, more than ever, we should draw attention to the venues that underpin the electronic music scene"

Green Valley Scores a Hat-trick

Leading the pack once again is Brazil's Green Valley. Having taken the top spot in 2018 and 2019, this makes it the first club in the poll's history to win three years in a row. Originating as a tent located in an old airfield, Green Valley has continuously been revamped and expanded on, resulting in the sprawling superclub that it is today. Over the past year it's seen performances from a series of world-class DJs, including Fatboy Slim, Fisher, Nicky Romero and Alok.

Spain's party mecca Ibiza sees two of its clubs featured in the top 10, with Hï Ibiza moving up to second place and the iconic Ushuaïa in at number 4. In bronze position is DC's Echostage, whilst London's Printworks jumps up four places to fifth. See below for the rest of the top 10.

This year saw new entries for London's E1 (#52), Taipei's AI nightclub (#57) and Tokyo's Warp Shinjuku (#62), among others. The US had the most entries on the list (14), closely followed by the UK (12) and China (11), with European and Asian clubs making up 75% of the total.
