New Song Recommendations

11/08 The Chainsmokers - Push My Luck

With their third studio album, World War Joy, due out before the end of the year, The Chainsmokers added to their recent streak of releases by dropping this latest track, Push My Luck. This marks the sixth song to be unveiled off the upcoming album, following the likes of Takeaway and Call You Mine, with the final four songs still in the pipeline. Push My Luck showcases a more mellow side of The Chainsmokers, relying on Taggart's soothing vocals to tell a story about the early stages of romance—the song's gentle synth progressions and chilled out vibe bear similarities with some of the duo's earlier material.

11/09 Au/Ra, Alan Walker - Ghost

Norwegian DJ Alan Walker teamed up with Antiguan rising-star Au/Ra last week for their latest collaboration Ghost. The pair were called upon by the makers of Japanese video game Death Stranding: Timefall to produce a song for the game's soundtrack, and after the success of their wildly popular track Darkside in 2018which has garnered over 400 million views on YouTube— it's clear to see why. According to Au/Ra, Ghost was written several years ago, whilst she was on the road and experiencing feelings of loneliness.

“At that time I was feeling very disconnected from friends and family, and I needed to write something about that feeling of isolation. It ties in with the concept of 'Death Stranding'—the isolation and disconnection in that world and its people, that the protagonist, Sam Porter, is trying to connect again.” -Au/Ra

11/08 CamelPhat, Jem Cooke - Rabbit Hole

Up next is another act to have worked with Au/Ra previously.... Grammy-nominated duo CamelPhat have seemed unstoppable since the release of their (almost frustratingly) catchy anthem Cola a couple of year ago, which saw them rapidly fired into the mainstream spotlight. Now they're back with another tech-house earworm Rabbit Hole, whose infectious, pulsating melody is somewhat trance-inducing and is bound to fill dance floors for months to come. As for the vocals, CamelPhat joined forces once again with British singer-songwriter Jem Cooke, who featured on the CamelPhat/Cristoph collaboration Breathe back in 2018.

11/08 Dada Life - Table Flipping Machine

Swedish duo Dada Life formed in 2006, taking inspiration for their name from the absurdist movement of the 20th century. Last year, the pair made their debut on Revealed Recordings with their high-energy party anthem Do It Till Your Face Hurts, and now they're back with another big room banger Taple Flipping Machine.

11/07 MOTi - Sleeptalking

Electro house DJ and music producer MOTi first jumped on the scene in 2012, working with Quintino on their collaboration Circuits. Since then, the Dutch DJ has had a number of high-profile remixes and joint projects with several of the industry's heavyweights, such as the 2014 hit Virus (How About Now) with Martin Garrix. Check out his latest future house track Sleeptalking below.

11/07 Blasterjaxx (feat. Junior Funke) - Monster

Someone else who's worked with MOTi over the years are Blasterjaxx, who've just dropped another progressive house/big room number, Monster, featuring Junior Funke.
2019 has proved to be a big year for the duo, having released their debut 23-track album, Perspective, earlier in the year under their own Maxximize label, as well as on renowned dance label Spinnin' Records.

11/08 Tritonal & Henry Dark - Shivohum

American duo Tritonal are continuing their dance music exploration this week by working alongside trance DJ Henry Dark to release Shivohum— a spiritual example of progressive trance which incorporates a mantra written completely in Sanskrit.

When translated, the mantra reads “Guide me from ignorance to truth, guide me from darkness to light. Creator, preserver, and destroyer (of material existence). I am that (pure consciousness), I am that, inner self”.

“Mantra and meditation have become cornerstones on which a new spiritual paradigm has taken form in my life. I wanted to point towards the inner stillness I feel during mediation in a track, and Sanskrit was a great tool for this. Shout out to my Indian manager Amit for the guidance!” -Chad Cisneros of Tritonal

11/08 Vini Vici vs Jean Marie ft Hilight Tribe - Moyoni

Sticking to the theme of different languages, Vini Vici, Jean Marie and Highlight Tribe finally released their long-awaited ID Moyoni, which is Swahili for "within the heart". Moyoni has appeared nonstop over the last few months— acting as a set-opener at major music festivals— and has already proved itself as a crowd favourite, so news of its official release will certainly cause a stir among psytrance fans.

11/05 Moody Good & SLANDER - Heart Break (feat. KARRA)

For the headbangers out there, last week Slander collaborated with U.K. bass producer Moody Good for this melodic dubstep track Heart Break, featuring L.A.-based EDM singer Karra. Moody Good was just recently signed up to Slander and NGHTMRE's label Gud Vibrations, which has been active for just over a year and has already achieved an insane amount of success in such little time. In addition to becoming serious competition for other dance music labels, earlier this month the news broke out that Gud Vibrations would be taking over the UMF Stage at Ultra Miami 2020.
